What TV Shows to Watch on Netflix
It’s summer time so that means days on end of lounging on the beach sipping tropical drinks, right? Well maybe for you but my summer looks more like Netflix in bed.

If you don’t have Netflix Instant, maybe stumbling across this article is a sign that you should get it! Yeah, yeah Netflix doesn’t always have the newest shows but I can’t tell you how many sleepless nights I’ve thanked the stars for my Netflix subscription. So what should you watch on Netflix? Well here’s a rundown of my favorite TV shows to binge watch.
1) Breaking Bad
My first choice I’m sure isn’t a surprise to you. Find me an article about what to watch on Netflix that doesn’t start with Breaking Bad and I’ll be shocked. Call me cliche but there really is no other option. If you haven’t seen Breaking Bad stop reading this article and go watch it. When you finish (which will probably be about 48 hours from now) you can come back to read the rest of this.
2) House of Cards
This political thriller with a Shakespearean twist is my absolute favorite Netflix original series. House of Cards is addicting due to the completely dark and twisted Frank Underwood played by Kevin Spacey. The story has a lot of depth and some great surprises. I haven’t been this shocked by a show since Ned Stark’s beheading. I’m not exaggerating when I say my mouth hung open for a good minute at one point.
3) The Paradise
I enjoy watching a wide variety of television but some people I know refuse to watch any movie or show that is dated before the year 2000. Yes, these people really do exist and they miss out on great shows such as The Paradise! I was so excited when I saw this on Netflix. I had already viewed it but at one point in my life I was completely unfamiliar with BBC shows and I’d imagine many people are with the exception of Downton Abbey. I hope The Paradise being on Netflix will give people the opportunity to watch an amazing BBC show that isn’t Downton. Don’t get me wrong, I love it.. but dare I say The Paradise is better?
4) Orange is the New Black
Orange is the New Black is the 2nd Netflix original on this list and although it doesn’t have the same pull on me that HoC does, it still manages to keep me glued to my computer until 3 AM. I have to admit I find the main character Piper very annoying and unlikable. However, she doesn’t make the story. My favorite part about OITNB is all the side stories with the different women who have found themselves in a Federal Correctional Facility.
5) Bates Motel
Bates Motel is a prequel to Hithcock’s Pshyco with a twist of being set in modern day. It is the most recent show I’ve watched on Netflix and I’m addicted. I’m really surprised that I hadn’t even heard of it until it became available on instant. It’s such a great show because the characters relationships with each other are so creepy and unique. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s definitely worth a shot if you’ve already checked out the other shows on my list!
Well I hope you enjoyed this article. I’m off to go to the Nordstrom Early Access Anniversary Sale and will be posting an article about what are the best finds for their 2014 sale. Happy Netflix viewing my friends!
