Santa Barbara Nature Trail Pics & More!
HELLO THERE! It’s been much too long. Travis and I went to Santa Barbara for the Fourth of July weekend and we had such a GREAT time. I thought I’d share the pictures I took and give some recommendations. I hope you enjoy! 🙂
SANTA BARBARA BOTANICAL GARDEN
The Santa Barbara Botanical Garden features a small, yet beautiful, nature trail. It is a very easy hike and I would consider it more of a walk. The scenery is stunning and I enjoyed every minute of it. My favorite part by far had to be the Redwood Trees grove in the center. They were just so huge and magnificent. It was about a 20 minute drive inland but we did it before we arrived to our hotel.
SANTA BARBARA ZOO
The zoo was lovely… but small. I loved being able to feed the Giraffes and it was a great experience. The zoo was very well kept and the animals seemed like they had great care BUT I just wish their enclosures were larger. It makes me sad to see such beautiful creatures like Elephants and Lions in such small pens.
DOUGLAS FAMILY PRESERVE NATURE TRAIL
AH, by far my favorite moments from the weekend were at the Santa Barbara Douglas Family Preserve. Again, a very easy hike but longer than the Botanical Gardens. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, the weather was perfect, and it was just a beautiful time. I highly recommend this above all else from my weekend in Santa Barbara.
We stayed at the Eagle Inn which is about a block from the beach and 2 blocks from State Street. We stayed in the Superior King room and it was extremely nice. The hotel was older but very charming. We really liked it and would recommend it. P.S. Buy their handmade chocolate strawberries – SO GOOD.
